Nokia has announced that Samsung Electronics has extended a patent license agreement with the Finnish company.
The South Korean CE giant extended a phone patent agreement it has with Nokia by an additional five years, according to Nokia. Nokia will receive additional compensation from Samsung, beginning next year.
Nokia has agreed to sell its phone business to Microsoft. That deal is currently being mulled over by regulators in the European Union. The Finnish company did opt to hold onto its lucrative patent portfolio however.
