Just a few months after bookseller Barnes & Noble shut down their own Nook App Store, the company appears to be readying a new device that has access to the Google Play Store.
The new Nook has just passed through the FCC and is codename "Nook Tablet 7," and the FCC posting makes it clear that the new tab will run Android including access to the Google Play Store, allowing for the download of a billion apps.
What we know for now:

MediaTek MTM8163 quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with Mali-T720 MP2 graphics
3,000mAh battery
front and rear cameras
mico-USB port
microSD card slot

It is likely that the Nook 7 will compete on price with the Amazon $50 Fire tablet, which does just the basics but is a cheap alternative to an e-reader.
