Speaking at the Dive Into Mobile conference today, WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum had some impressive figures to reveal for the application.
The exec says the the company has reached 200 million active monthly users, noting that the number is bigger than Twitter's base.
Additionally, Koum says the cross-platform messaging app averages 8 billion inbound and 12 million outbound messages per day.
Those numbers are even more notable given that WhatsApp only has 50 engineers.
WhatsApp costs just $0.99 per year and is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Windows Phone.
