The board is OK, but the BIOS and ASUS support is crap.

I tried to update to 1804 using ASUS Flash Utility from Win7 - it got stuck not able to verify after flash. When I rebooted the machine it indeed showed 1804, so BIOS got flashed. However, Windows did not boot anymore, Blue Screen of Death - BIOS is not fully ACPI compliant.

Then I tried to downgrade to some earlier version that would boot Windows. I made a USB DOS disk to use Award Flash but the utility fails to read from the USB disk. Then I made a SATA disk and tried 1502 from ASUS website. The utility succeeded and said "Press F1 to reboot". But the board did not boot anymore! So my board is a brick now!

Like matt87622 I also had problems with this Asus board and others. First board was a Asus P5N32-E SLI. Board died after 2 months of use, no OC'ing and it was well cooled. Asus sent out a broken replacement twice and I had to pay a fee to get a new board instead of a used board as replacement.

I bought this board to use as a PC for a family member. Out of the box 1/2 the USB ports don't work and I can't use the PS/2 ports.

Asus's quality took a dive when they split into 3 companies. I have since bought a eVGA board for my own personal PC and love eVGA's support. Full lifetime warranty and 24/7/365 US based tech support.

Asus is crap. I have a p5n32-e from the first month i had it the usb acted funny (wouldn't always see devices) Now the pci slots just stopped working and it's unstable. My friend bought a striker extreme and had to rma it 9 times just to get a good one. (there policy is if you have a problem with your new motherboard they send you a broken used board that was supposedly tested) In short do your self a favor and avoid asus. I would recommend xfx, evga, msi, ecs, intel, tyan, and supermicro depending on what your needs are.

I'm note a big Asus fan, i've built about 15 computers over 20 years, many different parts, many different manufactures of the components. The only pieces of hardware ever to go bad have been Asus, one mother board and one video card. Both caused a lot of frustration and painful debugging. Evenutally i was able to fix the problem by swapping out the components, no problem, the put the old buggy Asus components back in and the same probblems occured. $400 for a mother board is rather steep, there are many other boards that are cheaper, provide the same features and more realiable in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and do a little research. If this is working for you great. I bought a simular board with all the same features for a little more than half the price ask for this board, and better yet, NO PROBLEM with the MOBO i got.

For that price, one can buy a cheaper board, and a nice processor to go with it. Even a second series triple core.
