RAM (Random access memory ) is the internal memory of the phone used to execute programs etc.

  • Display technology (Display technology)

Display technology in use. The options (from worse to best) are STN (LCD), CSTN (Color STN), TFT (Thin-Film Transistor), and OLED (organic light-emitting diode). The first three are all based on LCD technology, which unlike OLED, do require backlight.

Got this for my birthday about a year ago, and have since jailbroken it with 3.1.2.
Pros:
-Screen size
-Best multitouch I have seen
-Soon to get android on it
-Sound quality
-8gb. I dont have nearly enough apps/music to use all of that, but movies take up a lot of space
-Not had any hardware problems in my total time owning it
-App store selection

Cons:
-Only AT&T without unlocking
-Small amount of RAM, so I cannot run linux through Bochs and actually get it to boot.
-Requires Jailbreaking to use non apple-approved apps
-Slow CPU
-Back gets hot after playing games on it.

Summary: It is a relatively good phone, however my next phone will most likely be an EVO 4G. It is too limited by apple/at&ts draconian restrictions, so I cannot give it 5 stars.

I was tentative about this phone at first because of it's shortcomings (ie; no MMS, only a 2MP camera etc)
but I decided on this instead of Blackberry HD Touch and so far I'm not regretting choosing the iPhone.
I seriously love the apps feature, the games keep the kids quiet on boring journeys.
One thing I still don't like is the damn crappy headphones that come with this phone or the iPod Touch which I also have, I've since bought a mic headphone switcher and some Sony in-ear headphones.. MUCH better ! ;c)
WiFi range seems to be excellent from tests I've carried out.

All in all a happy camper!

While many will say iPhone costs far more than the other format, more SDK are building applications than any other. Also, I admit, Apple's battery replacement issue and having to purchase the Apple Care extended to 2 year warranty for $69 is a little legal scam but if you look at it as I do, it is actually jusk OK. The battery is going to go out, eventually, it is going to cost something and to have full coverage over any other technical issues plus the battery to be replaced in the 23rd month, my own little smart advise for you all, is ok. Apple's policy is that if the capacity if 50% less holding a recharge, during the first 24 months of operation, then free battery replacement plus and more important, Apple gives you an immediate replacement phone. Now, yes, all items on your original phone is removed and you have to re sync everything from iTunes but this is reality everytime you doc and I doc, sync every day, so I don't see the big problem. In fact, USB 2.0 sync also recharges the battery so I keep it cabled up.
The amount of free Applications is awesome but watch out, I have read if you have something over 4 screens of applications, then lock up will occur, you have to restore. The other major issue, Voice Dial, purchase Voice Dial from Makayama.com, it works without an error. Yes the iPhone must be activated, yes the Voice Dial must be selected but all phones have some turn on sequence. So, is the phone plan more expensive, not from what I use and not so far, has anything changed from the, in my opinion, piece of crap Palm Treo 680, I had prior, the cost is exactly the same but the Phone is so much more than the Palm Treo 680, piece of crap, again my opinion.
One last issue I solved for the Ladies, my wife has fingers nails, essential for her ego, but with the iPhone's Accelerometer touch screen, the nails won't work, so POGO stylus, tenonedesign.com, $19.99USD, works perfectly on iPhones keyboard. She is happy and I am MORE, happy when she is happy.
One other item, if you read the specs about Video out on the iPhone and that it will not video out, no true, get the composite cable, attach it through the sync port and you can run to an HDTV without issue. Also WiFi transmission is great, so great I will probably upgrade my home to a Time Machine Back Up Tb drive, ASAP. Just note, you get a Airport module and Tb hardrive in one, with the Time Machine, for every Apple product in the house. So, you convert to WiFi 802.11 speed and the back up for everything on every system and every day it backs up every time you do anything, so if anything is lost, just look up the last time you had it and restore. 1000 gbits of storage is plenty for most mere humans, I know.
I think that just about covers Apple, the iPhone, the battery issue, AppleCare, Wifi and back up.
I will give you more scopes on Apple as I learn them.

Ask me anything about Apple, I won't BS you, if I know I will write it and if I don't know I will find out, then write it.
