"This profile 1.0 player has been a pretty solid and reliable performer for me for the past >1 year. It replaced a Samsung BDP1000. It can play any BluRay disc that I throw at it, even rentals with significant scratching and smudging. I would seriously consider another Panasonic - the DMP-BD50 - when I upgrade to the BD Live 2.0 spec."

"HD DVD Playback - The best of the pack bar none.

DVD Upconversion - Worthy competition to the best from Oppo and Denon due to its Reon HQV chip.

Audio - Able to decode Dolby True HD and extract DTS Core Only from DTS HD-MA. Excellent performance all-around either from HDMI or 5.1 analog connections."
