Media companies gear up for big copyright movement

Media companies gear up for big copyright movement Several of the top media groups have joined forces in an agreement to combat copyright infringement on the Internet. Companies such as Fox, Microsoft, Viacom, MySpace and others have all signed an agreement to better Filter copyrighted material and how its distributed on the web.
Absent from the ballot appears to be Google who seems to always be wrapped up in some type of infringement lawsuit. In fact, there currently is a $1 billion suit filed by Viacom for just that. As a public show of saving face, it's quite possible that Google may join this coalition very soon.

Details of the venture as set to be released later today, however the ultimate goal is to collectively assist in Blocking the upload and distribution of copyrighted material to websites and blocking said material before it is able to be consumed by the masses.



One of the biggest offenders, Google and YouTube released new filters on their servers to help combat copyrighted material, however it does not possess the technology to Block it from being uploaded in the first place.

Maybe they should join forces with the transsexual movement...dress in drag on parade during Mardi Gras.

Probably would get more supporters that way.

I wonder if these guys have ever read the constitution. Article I, Section 8, Clause 8 states "To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries" I do believe people should be compensated for their work. This was added to protect people like Eli Whitney who didn't make a dime from the cotton gin, Congress actually bailed him out of his debts it was so bad. First off most of this stuff they have copyright to is not even their own work. Second they are not broke, they have been well compensated for other peoples work. Third the constitution uses the term limited, these guys want to own this stuff for a hundred years (literally). I don't think that is limited.

then came the middle man who raped the artist, enslaved the goverment and decimated the people.
