Well I think that Lionsgate should drop Blu-ray and come to HD-dvd, because in my opinion HD-dvd is the best.

I'm glad to see more studios delving into interactivity. I own HD-DVD, so all features like that basically work on all players. I wonder how this will all play out on BR players, re: the variety of stages everyone's BR equipment is at (1.0, 1.1, etc)
Still good for HD overall, though, since some features just may get people looking this way.

I bet you think you are funny right? How would you feel if you were writing articles whose comments always get ruined cause immature children feel the need to call out one member?
I have never ONCE seen hughjars call out another member BY NAME unless provoked, yet every article someone calls him out...its not fun to read.

He may be a huge HD DVD fan, but he makes informed posts...there is nothing wrong with that. I wish there was someone on the Blu-ray side that knew as much about Blu-ray as he does about HD DVD so all this childishness would stop.

I'm going to over look that comment...That couldn't be farther from the truth. So your saying that anyone who comment on Blu-Ray don't know what there talking about ?

Thanks DVDBack23, I appreciate that.
As for the substance of the article?
Well, if any of the existing Blu-ray players will work with this kind of stuff then great, it'll be nice for the owners to get something more for the premium they are already paying for high def.
Of course it's bit late in the day and all that but it's got to be better than that embarrassing trumpeting of what has been up until now just effectively old interactive CD tech as if it were an 'advanced feature' set.
Course none of the Blu-ray players (excepting the PS3 & that very recent Panny) has an ethernet port for any of this.
I guess it's just tough luck for those owners.
For all the repeated rumours of the PS3 getting an upgrade to 'profile 2,0' a rather large and obvious 'nothing' has actually happened and absolutely nothing official has been said (excepting an announcement that claimed 'some' features of the new profiles may be added (which is not quite the same thing).
.......but then of course all the Blu-ray fans have repeatedly assured us (for as long as Blu-ray can't/doesn't have these advanced features) that they don't want them.
The Blu-ray fans have spent months claiming those advanced features and extras were a total waste of time they weren't interested in; they only cared about the 'main feature'.
Right guys?
LMAO.

Consumer don't care for the extra stuff it showed during the DVD releases.People only want the movie they could careless about all this stuff. But good to see that BD met the 1.1 profile with no problems. Can't wait til Sony release the 1.1 update i hear that its going to include support DTS-HD Master Audio decoding.

I remember a Independence poll was done in 2004 where they ask people how many actually look at extras on DVD.Its was like 93% say they don't & the ones that do looked at it for cuts scenes not this blue screen crap that was done on 300 HD which showed because the BD version of 300 out sold HD version even with Warner advertising it on TV.

You never know what people are going to jump on, when it comes to technology, so making blanket statements isn't wise.
I remember when SMS text messaging first appeared. Why would ANYONE pay 50c to send a few bits of data, when they could actually TALK to someone for 5 minutes for the same price? Boy, was I short sighted...
Some studio will come up with a great idea for an HD extra, which will make lots of people happy. For me, I'd like to be able to record your own Mystery Science Theater 3000-type commentary and share it easily with your friends, synced up to the movie. That'd be fun.
