Three new Android phones coming from Samsung this year

According to a company report, Samsung will deliver three new Android-based smartphones in 2009, with the first set to hit in early June.

Samsung added that the first Android device would be released in Europe, with the two subsequent handsets being released in the US. One would be CDMA-based, for Sprint, while the other would be GSM-based, for T-Mobile.

The company did not detail what the phones would look like, but did say it would have more of a Samsung-feel to it than the current G1 Android, which is deeply integrated with Google services and applications.

"Our commitment is more to the Android phone than the Google experience device," added Dr. Won-Pyo Hong, Samsung's executive VP.

Why not make them compatible with both networks, and save some production costs. Oh wait i forgot its all about crashing a billion dollar company and expecting Bailout's. how silly of me to think you wanted to save money. [ + quote]

It'd probably increase price of the phone by alot so they wouldn't sell as much. And plus it wouldnt have the greatest reception. These are two different networks, with two different ways of processing information. If your computer savvy, its like saying lets make a pci card work in both a agp, and pci slot..... Doesn't work so well. And just as another side note, all networks have little programs like Vcast and what not, which usually have dedicated buttons. So yea... Wouldn't work man. And if it did, It'd cost a shit load in research funds. [ + quote]
