    Finally someone pulls their head out of their a**, and puts out a player
    that isn't locked down with this additional protection. This might be a DRMray player worth buying because of all the other formats it supports.
    I'll be looking forward to some reviews.

    You hear alot of people complaining about a device not supporting Matroska these days, given it does just about everything.

    Im sure there is a reason why they wont allow open Container formats on a BD player, and im sure its for the same reason they don't want the *nix scene playing BD discs

    Funny you say that because most of the times, if you order dvd players and such from overseas, a good majority of them are region free and even a decent cheap one lasts a long time runs about $100

    and they got a licence? i thought that the movie courps were making multi region illegal, under the proposals that were leaked from the ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) to wikileaks? and seems that,

    1. Walt Disney Pictures (The Walt Disney Company);
    2. Columbia Pictures (Sony Corporation);
    3. Paramount Pictures (Viacom);
    4. 20th Century Fox (News Corporation);
    5. Universal Studios (NBC Universal);
    6. Warner Bros. (Time Warner).

    release the majority of films, (be it popcorn pg13 rubbish)and dictate the hardware specs, it's rather strange this blu-ray player is in existence. what happened to global price fixing through regional locks, will it raise it's ugly head again?

    This looks like it could be the player of choice.

    Yes, I have an oppo upconverting dvd player that I love, and picked it up for 99.99 USD. I doesn't support bluray discs however.
