In-car Blu-ray entertainment system coming from Panasonic

Panasonic has announced the launch of its CN-HX900D and CY-BB1000D two-part in-car Blu-ray system, the first of its kind.

The system uses a Windows-powered dash-mountable device which includes a 7-inch 720p display. It also includes a CD/DVD player, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, a 40GB HDD and iPhone/iPod compatibility.

The Blu-ray player itself is not BD-Live compatible.

The entertainment system is expected to it Japanese stores by September with no word on North American or European releases.

Looks nice, except for that screen. I'm sure the price tag on this thing won't be cheap, so they could of at least made it an LED screen. [ + quote]

useless when in car dvds only have a 7" screen. You can have a 60mb file on mine thats 40 minutes long and it looks perfect. [ + quote]

HD becomes evident (and desirable) as the screen size incrases. With a 7" display who can really tell the difference. [ + quote]
