PSP game rentals in the works?

22 May 2009 3:14 by Andre "DVDBack23" Yoskowitz | 4 comments

PSP game rentals in the works? According to a report by Develop, Sony is experimenting with different ways to offer game rentals for the PSP handheld.

Users would be able to download and temporarily use the the full games which would have DRM that would make the game unplayable after a certain period.

Sony has also asked gamers via a survey whether they would use a subscription service "that offers a set number of game rentals each month."

It is unclear when, or if, any type of rentals would be made available, but the path should be more clear after the E3 event next month. We will keep you updated.

Mabye even start a subscription setup to get money into the PSN backbone.... 10$ a month gets you 2 games rentals.

I think LIVE would put this to better use 15$ a month gets you some points to spend like 10$ worth that dose not add up over time just a 10$ off coupon they could focus renting Xbox games 2 a month and when the new console rolls out BWC can be one part digital one part physical.

I'd like default BWC but that's a pipe dream now adays.....

You mean, like the Wii? Hardware BWC with Gamecube and digital BWC with just about every other system created?

LOL. I'm pulling your chain Zippy, I know you're talking about PS3 and 360 still. They don't feel like spending R&D funds on money they made years ago!

Well sony cocked up and had to cut it because of they were bleeding moeny from spending billoins buying of hollywood to use Blu ray.

MS switched video chip sets late last minute and didnt have enough time to build a proper BWC system.

Both are fcktards as is most of the industry who skip on bug testing, polish and qaulity......

Its nice to see nin having some bwains over BWC but their control interface sucks for precision gaming the new controller is nice but its not BWC with older games...its ridiculous...

Maybe they should do something like Sega Channel.
