FYE poster leak shows $100 price cut on PS3 models In just another confirmation of an upcoming, and highly anticipated price cut, a CAG user has taken a picture of an FYE poster that shows that the 80GB model of the PlayStation 3 will see a price drop to $299 USD and the 160GB model will drop to $399.
Sony is expected to announce the price cut at the Gamecon event next week, along with the probable release of a Slim model PS3.

Wrong kind of hat, I'd die on the feathers....besides I like something more...leathery looking.

Chances are that this was photoshopped and printed out.

Someone exampled how easy it was on another site and he made multiple real-looking posters which were all photoshopped.

Even though that this picture is (might be) fake, I still believe in the price drop.

Hmmmm, even if this is real the question remains.

Is it a real price cut or just a short temp one to clear what stock of the old dead 80gb model there is?

(didn't we get a load of stories about how stocks of the 80gb model were being run down recently?)

If the 160gb is staying @ $399 there's no guarantee the slim - if it comes - will be $299.

The question is that will other countries around the world get to see these price cuts?? I hope soo.

The wii is still 250-300. If you consider 299 in comparison for a ps3 hefty then you're on your own on that one.

Agreed. I figure $299 for a PS3 is the "Just Right" price for what it is... Maybe throw in a game and its set. I paid like $500 somethin' for my 60GB and I'm happy with it :)

I really don't think anyone should complain about the price now because its what everything costs now. If the 360 is cheaper you still gotta buy live which I'm sure many would like to say is a stupid argument but it sure pisses me off knowing I'm paying for this crap that I'm not gonna use much through the year because of school, and what's with the damn ads? I'm just gonna stop there, the whole LIVE topic frustrates the hell out of me.

That photo is edited, they're going to raise prices, not drop them:

I think I'm going to trade up my 40GB.

$999.99 for the 80GB PS3, you just can't go wrong.

Also note that this is the EXISTING systems, NOT the new slim model. This particular price cut may just be for clearing out the older model and not reflect what the price of the new slim model(s) will be. Since 120GB is apparently going to be the lowest (only?) HD size on the PS3 slim, it could still be between $300 and $400 (likely $330-350).

360s aren't cheap either... The Arcade bundle new cost me $90, a 20GB HDD for $60, $4 for half a mic (stole the other half long ago), $60 for LIVE, $20 for a 50' ethernet cable (cause no wifi) and like $60 for the tool to mod it. That's a total of $294, and I still probably got to put in another $60 for the appropriate WD HDD to hack and replace the 20GB with 120GB hopefully cause I thought I could be ok but when you're rippin' games to the HDD, 20GB only holds 2, or 1 and then some downloadable content maybe. Ain't cuttin' it.

Ok I'm kiddin'. 360s can be pretty damn cheap if you don't need everything I bought for it. The console alone was $90, but then I had to buy a bunch of extra crap that I didn't have to for my PS3 (besides the specifics). Either way, on my entertainment shelf, my PS3 sits above the 360 and until the 360 gets some exclusives that I actually like, it'll remain like that lol

only 100 $ hmmm :( STill expensive ...
