Sony accidentally releases 'Armored' via PlayStation Store, for free

Sony accidentally made the still-in-theaters film Armored available via the PlayStation Store earlier this week, offering the movie as a free digital download for about five hours.

All users had to do was head over to the PS Store, search for "Armored" and download the movie, for free, for the PS3 and the PSP.

For those that missed it, the film has resurfaced as Armored 2009 DVDSCR READNFO XviD-PrisM on torrent and warez sites, and the entire situation is a pretty large mistake to be made by the corporation. Perhaps a marketing stunt?

I think they did the same with "‘Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs’"...I wonder how "accidentally" that happened...Just finished watching "Armored"...not that bad, but I am glad they let me "screen it".

"The man" is slipping up, no doubt heads will roll for this lapse in security. The man can be quite ruthless when it come to protecting it's media.

IT'S A TRAP

the movie is so bad (imdb) it's got no chance of making a return at the theatres, the only way they will get their money back is to sue as many people as possible for "Making Available" and the fines are so much larger for pre releases

Ah bless 'em, that's kind of Sony, you don't often get the big companies giving out freebies. Thanks Sony (i don't have a PS3) but thanks anyway :p

Another case of a slip? More like intentional. There's always someone out there on the inside leaking stuff out and then saying it was an accident. As far as this is concerned, more of a publicity stunt to attract viewers and interest.
