Wal-Mart will no longer sell Amazon Kindle devices

Exactly right...Amazon competes with all brick and mortar/internet competitors. Why should Target or Wal-Mart sell "ad machines" like the Kindles for Amazon?

I love Amazon, but let's face it, why would Target and Wal-Mart want to help Amazon compete with them?

Actually, who cares what WalMart does??? I stopped going into their stores when they closed all but one cash register and forced people to use their self-checkout machines. They single handedly(sp?) have forced more businesses to close than the Obama administration and the outsoursers have!

This is what happens with in our NON free market place.

I guarantee that Apple was part of the deal. They have been caught, as Microsoft has, trying to control markets, but NOT in the marketplace.

Apple will illegally force stores to not sell certain products because if they do, they will pull their entire product line out of the store.
Microsoft has done that as well, but Microsoft will NEVER, EVER do that with Apple.
With the hundreds of millions that Microsoft has put into Apple, they dont really compete with each other, they are like one virtual company.

To be honest, because of all the corruption that goes on with limiting product in retail stores,. I purchase most everything online, simply for Inventory reasons.

There are also loads of illegal kickbacks and bonuses given to stores for pitching particular products and the location where they will be displayed.

Well, suppose you owned a small grocery store in a small Iowa town... WalMart comes in and cuts your prices by 20%... Are you not FORCED out of business because you can't compete with them? Sure its the name of the game, and it's the people trying to save a buck. But who was at fault? You for not being able to buy in the quantities WalMart does for a better price to pass on to your customers or WalMart for coming there in the first place?

I have seen bigger businesses close up too... like Pamida, Safeway, and others I can no longer remember the names of, because of WalMart selling their cheap, inferior Chinese crap at prices that FORCE families to shop there. No one is holding a gun at anyone's head, but with times being as hard as they are, and inflation being what it is, someone might as well be! Sam Walton is surely turning over in his grave what with all the non-made in the USA crap there is in his stores today. But of course, no one is holding a gun at WalMart's head to buy it either. Yeah, call it free enterprise or normal business practices, or whatever, but it's STILL a fact that WalMart has closed up more businesses than stores it has opened up times 10!

Call me a fool or whatever, but I STILL refuse to buy their cheap Chinese crap, and will pay a premium for the same item elsewhere. But then, I'm old, and can remember what quality actually is/was, and there were jobs making these items right here in the old USA.

For your information, I also refuse to buy a foreign car... look what the imports have done to the automobile industry! Jobs lost, pensions lost, people's lives crushed, and for what?? A cheaper automobile. At least the auto industry got smart and started focusing on safety and fuel economy with the few that are still viable. However, it wasn't the foreign automakers that caused this, It was the price of fuel and the numbers of accidents with lives lost, and the impending lawsuits over their deaths that did! The quality and dependability of the foreign cars isn't being questioned, it's the fact that they outnumber the USA made ones!

So stick up for the likes of WalMart and Toyota... that is until YOU lose YOUR job because of one of them, but that will probably not happen because you're a yuppie WalMart employee or own a foreign car franchise or something else untouchable by this diasease afflicting America today...GREED!

Please do a little research on them to understand what they have done to this country.

You would never know if people don't want to destroy the local businesses as well as other U.S. businesses object to a Wal-Mart. They have already greased the palms of the local politicians so well, that their is no way that planning and zoning in a community can get them NOT to open up.
What benefits ?? They will help their employees apply for welfare and food stamps.

Approximately 30% of Walmart's items are US made. There are US made alternatives for some of the remaining 70% if one chooses, and can be bought elsewhere.
You incorrectly used the term "offshoring" when you meant "outsourcing" - were it not for the latter, only the extremely wealthy could own the electronics we use daily and take for granted. Our lust has created something for the oppressed in the third world where nothing existed before, and the impoverished are gaining traction on their tyrants as we transfer our wealth in this manner, whereas redistribution by government invariably results in corruption, and the poor are again pawns.

Walmart is a speck in time. Time is not today; it is centuries. Centuries hence our progeny will visit the Walmart museum.

Typical uninformative argument. Lets just focus on one portion of your flawed piece. Ok, i will agree that 35 yrs ago that American made cars were superior due to there being a keen lack of foreign markets here. Fast foward a bit. Since 1992, i still have a foreign made car that is actually running still. Since 1995, i have had quite a few Am.made cars that have broken down. Trucks wise, they have lasted 10 yrs but car wise, garbage to be honest. I own 7 vehicles and all but one of the foreign cars run better than my Am.made cars.

Also, in this day and age, crack open any Am.made product and you will find foreign parts somewhere in there in some way.

The mom n pop stores have been dying since i can remember. It is not ony the one stop shop stores but other things such as the internet killing them as well. As a matter of fact, not to insult any one, but the mnp stores were more expensive anyway and we only shopped there because it was the only thing in town back in 1984...we relished the day alternatives came about. Shopping at larger retailers puts money in my pocket and that is what i am looking at. Not that i shop walmart but the idea i agree on.
