How "friendly" is game tap will it let you play off line or is it a streaming based service that needs online?

If Game tap gets Sining force 3,shining the holy ark(shining in the darkness 2) and a few other Saturn games I will be happy to pay 10 a month.

I thought they were going to give free games away what is this subscription. Make them old games and easy to download.

So it seems that not all games will be offered for free and the 'price' of free is to download some player that will show ads before the game plays. Hopefully this player wont also be spyware or serve ads while you are not playing....

I got a Gametap account yesterday free for thirty days by collecting Coke bottle caps, (my coke rewards website,) and I have to say I love it. The interface is cool and all around I feel like it's a gamer heaven. I plugged in my xbox 360 controller and Gametap automatically set the buttons to work in most games, (not so much on the PC games but eh.)

Gametap is essentially emulation for n00bs but it has many ease of use features and a nice collection of harder to find old PC games that make it worth its while.

In terms of the whole free thing... Sounds sticky and full of ads. Better to just get free accounts from drinking Coke.

Whether it's stream-based or download(probably not), it's pretty cool that we might be able to play a lot of the more recent titles(In the last fiver or seven years) for free soon. I'm sure they're not here referring to 'X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter' and 'Day of the Tentacle' lol. I would love being able to play some of the titles I missed in the last five years, that'd be cool.

As for the Saturn emulator bit... I could swear there is a good working one, I just can't recall the name of it, I was actually working with it for a little while, but admittedly it was rather laggy in some cases. : /

It would be nice if they could get some stuff from nintendo and Sony hell even the late 90s PC games but pubs have been slow to jump on it.

I would love for Sega CD,32X,Saturn and DC to become a worth while part of GT,GT dose seem nice and I much prefer the rent aspect of it over paying 40-60$ for a downloaded game but not be able to install it offline or when their server goes down steam should give up and change to a rental plan because thats what it really is..
