Spotify to launch browser-based version? According to multiple sources, Spotify is preparing to launch a browser-based version of its popular service.
Additionally, the company will focus more discovery, "including following the listening habits and playlists of influencers in addition to your friends," says Crunch.

Spotify has been very successful since its launch in the U.S. last year, with 7.7 million daily users, 22 million monthly users and 4 million paying for premium subscriptions.

Subscriptions cost $5 a month for ad-free desktop service or $10 for mobile access and ad-free access.

There is little other info about the browser version, but it will likely be a full replacement to the current standalone app. Time will tell.
