HTC reports their lowest quarterly profit, ever HTC reported their quarterly earnings this morning, disappointing investors with their lowest profit, ever.
Profits for the quarter were just $2.85 million, compared to $33 million last quarter and $345 million during the Q1 in 2012.

Revenue fell to $1.4 billion, down from $2 billion last quarter.

The news comes at a terrible time for HTC, which just had to delay their flagship device, the One. A shortage of ultrapixel cameras means the One has only been launched in three markets so far, compared to the 80 HTC wanted to have it in by the end of March. The company will now have to compete directly with Samsung's Galaxy S4 when it launches at the end of April in 155 nations.

HTC recently unveiled its First phone, the first device to include Facebook Home, a new user interface that tightly integrates Facebook and Instagram features.

HTC seem to be on the way out... it's a cut-throat biz.

Its a lot easier being righteous than right.

Not surprised as the S3 and S4 are doing so well.

However, HTC phones have much better construction using more metal than Samsung. I like that and that is a weighing factor for me when deciding to buy.

HTC's non-user servicable battery trend is the main reason I went for a S3. I just don't feel comfortable with the fact that if my phone just flat out locks up...I can't yank my battery and reset. I also don't like the fact that the battery could go dead if I keep the phone long enough and I can't replace the battery myself. Keep an extra charged battery just in case on trips? Nope.

I gave HTC a chance with the Sensation S4. The USB and headphone jacks both wore out within 3 months, the FM radio never worked at all (even with their uncomfortable headphones), the stock battery wasn't half as good as a $15 generic from China, and the microSD card would slowly vibrate out of the slot every 1-2 weeks because it wasn't made tight enough. Oh, and HTC Sense is garbage. Much happier with my Galaxy S3.

Talk about nailing down the coffin KB. :D

All Sammy has to do now is offer an aluminium case as an option...
