GTA 5 release dates for PC, PS4, Xbox One revealed

Rockstar has revealed the release dates for Grand Theft Auto V for PC, the PS4 and the Xbox One.
Current-gen gamers will be happy to know the game will be available on November 18th, while PC gamers will have to wait a few more months until January 27th, 2015.

In addition to the slightly improved graphics and higher resolution, the games also have increased draw distances, and denser traffic and foliage as well as new vehicles, weapons and extended activities. Pre-orderers will also get $1 million in-game cash.

Since the music is a big part of the game, as well, Rockstar has added 100 new songs and DJ mixes to the radio.

If you own the game for Xbox 360 and PS3, you can migrate your character to the current-gen systems and keep on playing.

This is clear and definitive proof that companies pump out games for a quick buck at any cost.........in this case, GTA 5 should have come out for ONLY next-gen consoles and the PC. Look how much better it is now that it's about to come on the better platforms.

So you're saying GTA V was a broken game on the PS3 and 360?

Dude, that's just boneheaded and elitist. If the game runs at all on the older consoles, why NOT address that market first? Do you have any comprehension of how many older consoles are currently out there? They still vastly outnumber the PS4 and XBox by a very wide margin. Furthermore, dev costs on those consoles, since they are very familiar and well-understood, are generally far lower. This way, the company gets a guaranteed income stream, while they hammer out the release for the more powerful systems.

I think that instead, you should be grateful that the game will now appear on the more powerful machines. This is even more true for the PC, where it's becoming increasingly difficult to persuade software developers to release titles, due to both piracy and significantly higher dev costs from the incredible variability of PC hardware.

In fact, kudos to Rockstar, for having the sense and gumption to release for just about every platform they can get their grubby mitts on, including GTA 3/San Andreas for Android! That, my friend, is a sign of a corporation that truly wants that cash to stop burning a hole in your wallet, so it can burn holes in theirs =) . It's a refreshing change from obnoxious platform exclusives, that's for sure.
