IPTV

IPTV is television transmission technology that delivers TV signal over Internet connection, such as DSL line.

Often the term IPTV is confused with videos that can be watched using a Internet browser. Instead, IPTV works exactly like a terrestial/aerial or cable TV broadcast in sense that it is not "on-demand" by nature, but delivers the same content to all viewers at the same time. Furthermore, PC is rarely used to receive the IPTV transmission, but instead, a stand-alone "set-top box" is used to decode the signal and then deliver the video to a standard TV set.
