The specs here are now outdated & wrong.

Firmware updates have made this a genuine 1080p/24 HD TV.

Firmware updarting has also sorted out the problematic freeview issues.

IMO this is one hell of a bargain in the UK (currently at £730 or so @ Dixons).

Set-up was so easy it couldn't really be made any easier.

SD TV is perfectly watchable tho flawed on these TVs (even with the image upscaled it's soft and just not quite there, but it is ok, nothing horrible unlike some 1080p HD TVs) but of course it really shines with Sky HD TV, HD DVD (@1080p/24) and 1:1 pixel scanned PC images/games.

Even my old Divx/Xvid SD movies look very good upscaled on it.

There are plenty of inputs (2 Scart, 3 HDMI 1.3, 1 x component, 1 x VGA, 1 x Svideo & 1x composite).

Colours & contrast are superb ("Make no mistake, the Samsung is easily among the best in its class" http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE40M86BD/
......although note that their review/test was before the firmware upgrade to true 1080p/24 came in June 2007).

Some have knocked the rear facing speakers on the set but I find them absolutely fine for normal TV viewing and I use a 5.1 set-up for movies etc anyways.

It's a great and nicely sorted set now and well worth the money IMO
(Dixons even had a real sale at X-mas & the new year; I got mine for less than they are going for now and with free delivery too.
Nice).
