Update: Over 700,000 iPhones sold in first three days

In an update to our previous article, it seems even more iPhones have been sold than was previously reported. Apple has said that over 3 days, 700,000 phones were sold, shattering AT&T's record for most phones sold in a month. Previously, the RAZR was the top selling phone for AT&T, with over 500,000 sold in its first month.

According to Apple, 95 of 164 Apple stores were sold out by Monday night while AT&T sold out almost every phone in its 1800 locations. Apple stores located in Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, and Washington state were completely sold out, according to Bloomberg.

After the device was introduced at Macworld 07, AT&T's CEO predicted "the largest commercial product launch in the history of electronics." It seems that he was right in his prediction.

wow.. the iphone out sold the zune in 3 days. then the whole time the zune been out.. looks like apple comes on top again =] [ + quote]

The Zune is an MP3 player (comparable to the iPod, not the iPhone). Microsoft hasn't come out with a phone yet. [ + quote]

its not being rude... but umm zune just sold a million... and i got this from a previous zune topic on this site.. zune sold a million players finally... During the same period (from release to same time zune sold a million), Apple has sold about 25 million iPods but nevertheless, Microsoft is happy about their progress. so there u go... incase u want to compaire apples to apples. i knew they would sell a ton. just shows to all the doubters that there is definitely a high price market for phones, and consoles, and everything if done right. apple will sell 50 million of these damn phones, and they cost 600 each. [ + quote]

I dunno ppl were complaing that the PS3 is very expensive for a console, i'd say the iPhone is the same except i wouldnt have to pay more or less of $100 every month for the phone plan. Im sure the iPhone is cool and all but..... dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lol. It goes to show that Sony was ok to put the PS3 for $600 cuz they know ppl have the money...just that they rather buy a phone with the money instead lol. Hurray for iPhone tho cuz it looks sick. I hope it goes cheaper tho. :( [ + quote]
