AllofMP3 making a comeback

27 August 2007 19:53 by Andre "DVDBack23" Yoskowitz | 7 comments

AllofMP3 making a comeback While many believed it to be dead and buried, it seems AllofMP3 will be resuming service.

"The service will be resumed in the foreseeable future," a blog post from the company read. "We are doing our best at the moment to ensure that all our users can use their accounts, top up balance and order music."

The latest development follows the decision by a Russian judge to throw out the case against Denis Kvasov, the former head of Mediaservices, the parent company of the site.

The record companies have vowed to appeal the decision but they will be facing a losing battle. The Russian courts ruled that Kvasov cannot be sued under current Russian law.

Cool! I am moving to Russia and getting an mp3 player so I can listen to 'free' music all over. Maybe the U.S. will invade Russia over copyright infringement.

Of course they could also just go to ROMS and show proof that they OWN the copyrights to the music IN DIGITAL FORMAT and collect the royalties that have been piling up while they have been refusing to do so...

But nah.... why go get all of the money ROMS collected legaly (per Russian law) on your behalf when you can just sue a bunch of college kids, poor disabled mothers and dead people in the states instead?

This has been a good year for digital music and file sharer's alike. The RIAA has suffered some very decisive blows, and there are several good cases tied up in the courts currently that could really set a precedent on how the RIAA handles their future actions.
