NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology is a combination of high-definition movie decode acceleration and post-processing, HDCP circuitry, and integration with high-definition movie players like Digital Theatre.
PureVideo claims to deliver the ultimate Blu-ray and HD DVD movie experience on PCs and notebook computers. "We are delighted to be working together with NVIDIA to provide high definition video solutions," said Michael Downs, ArcSoft Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. "Through our collaboration, we have been able to take advantage of unique features within the NVIDIA hardware to improve video performance and quality, as well as implement new security features required by the Blu-ray and HD DVD formats."
"ArcSoft's implementation of NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology gives consumers a player that delivers smooth, high performance playback of HD content on PCs equipped with GeForce GPUs," stated Scott Vouri, General Manager of the Multimedia Business Unit at NVIDIA. "By adding support for our new GeForce 8400, 8500,and 8600 GPUs, ArcSoft Digital Theatre 2 delivers a fast, easy to use movie watching experience, even on mainstream PCs."
