Yeah, the concept and the site's layout were good, IMO, but as AfterDawn is the "mother ship" of our web properties, it became slightly complicated to navigate through the group of sites that didn't share the same navigational structure, i.e. if you ended up moving from AfterDawn to Filepedia, you were somewhat "lost" on how to return back to aD for news, etc.

Our current main priority is to figure out ways to make our content easier to find for our users -- we have more than 700,000 pages of content on our site and finding the right information can sometimes be a bit difficult :-) And combining all the software items under one umbrella was one step on that road.

to be honest i think the site is in perfectly good working order, due to the range of search features and the array of tabs available at the top.

as long as each of those tabs remains above content on every page, its all good as its the primary source of navigation anyway.

in other words, you guys are doing great :)

Thanks for the kind words, but as I've worked in this business for almost a decade now, I've learned that if you don't improve your act constantly, you're soon out of business (those of you who remember the times when Altavista ruled the search engine game or the times when Slashdot was the #1 news site for geeks probably understand what I mean :-).

We have some major pages on our site that can confuse the heck out of a new user. Imagine a person, who has never visited our site before, arriving to our forum frontpage ;-) Or a video n00b trying to find the right guide for his/her needs using our guide list...

When you have 4-10 forum rooms and less than 10 guides, the lists like they are now, work well, but once the amount of content grows to proportions we have it nowadays, it becomes almost impossible for Joe Average to find the right content, specially if he's not quite sure what he is looking for :-) And that we try to change in near future.

if you ever need a hand with anything, dont bother asking cause i cant do anything :) lol hahaha

but nevertheless you guys are doing great! and will be here for moral support for a long time afaik.
