Apple is using their bandwidth and accounting /collection labor to provide the downloads. This costs money people. If NBC / Zucker wants to raise the cost of the downloads to $2.99 or higher they had better be prepared for a drastic drop in downloads and maybe a boycott of all legal TV show downloads. The old saying applies "He's going to squeeze the nickel until the buffalo $hits"

At 2.99 a download that would cost more than buying the DVDs. I recommend netflix or bittorrent. That way NBC will see even less $. I have no intention of going to this hulu website. I don't want to watch this stuff on my computer, I want to watch it on my apple tv or ipod.

Apple is not so bad, its still 50-80% more than I am willing to pay but tis a start.

'f' ucker can't quite understand that you can not sell/sale/sail eps at 1/3rd or 1/4th the price of a DVD no in order to do be able to sell/sale/sail(starts singing the YMCA) you need to price lower, more like 1/8th or 1/16th.

yeah i did read the article.. jobs lies to consumers then markets it like he is making great decisions.

first of all he markets his decision saying they wanted to charge 5 bucks, when zucker says 3. just listen to some of his statements, jobs is a greedy piece o sht.

I don't think either one of them would know the truth even if it came up and bit them on the ass. But I trust Zucker less than Jobs.

Jobs is a capitalist, but apple has never screwed their customers like the movie and music industries routinely do. Nor have they resorted to the underhanded tactics of Sony or Microsoft, both of which are notorious for hobbling and spying on their customers.

Jobs is holding the line on inexpensive downloadable content. He is pushing for removal of DRM. His computers will run OSX, Windows XP, Vista, or even Linux.

Even if you choose never to buy an apple service or product, you should appreciate that they coninually push the respective industries from a techological perspective, as well as a consumer friendly one.

Just because apple was smart enough to come up with this concept this does not mean everyone can have a bite of the apple.

I forgot to mention that even at $ 1.99 each for TV show episode downloads it costs more than buying the box set. I don't know about the rest of the forum but I'll wait until the stores like Wally World start discounting the box sets. Forget about Best Buy, Circuit City, and similar stores their prices start at $ 49.95 and up for box sets with most at $ 59.95. The executives need to get a clue but I guess thats nearly impossible when they have a rectal-cranial inversion.
