BenQ introduces "thinnest ever" 24-inch monitor

17 March 2008 17:33 by Andre "DVDBack23" Yoskowitz | 51 comments

BenQ introduces thinnest ever 24-inch monitor At 0.9 inches at its thinnest, BenQ has introduced the V2400W, a 24 inch monitor inspired by the B-2 stealth bomber that "uses a new plastic injection technique that both curves the back of the display and makes it one of the thinnest of its kind."

The display is about 2.4 inches at its thickest point and includes a thin bezel and a touch-sensitive control panel. More importantly, the screen has a 4,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 2ms gray-to-gray (5ms normal) pixel response time.

As is standard, the display has DVI, VGA and HDMI inputs. There was no word on price but the company said it will only be available in North America with a spring release date.

    1 inch = 2.54cm

    hence 1 cm = .40 inch

which = 2/5 of an inch

funni how ppl start being smart asses without even passing primary school maths

    nice pics btw

r0b0t3ch, it's ok we all know that you are used to quoting things being a little bit larger than they actually are. It's messed up your perspective a little bit... Poor Man.

Has it worked for you yet?

On a positive note this is one of the most entertaining threads I have seen in long time. Nice work on the pics cyprusrom! I would say this thread even rates as entertaining as the hughjars vs. AfterDawn thread! Sadly it ended up in his passing away on AfterDawn. May he rest in peace... We will always remember him. We could always ask John Edward to communicate with hughjars so we can know what the next hugely successful format would be as he had such clarity in this department (that was NOT a punt at HD-DVD, I have nothing against that format... Woooo... Touchy subject!) :-P Ok... Way off topic now.

I wonder if this thread will result in the passing of another member. We can only wait to find out...

I vote for a gallagher vs. r0b0t3ch post off! PetahG, you're already into the final... The winner of these two Clowns gets you to deal with! Hahaha... This thread is way too funny. Place your bets....

lol....actually, maybe it monitors your P2P activity, and sends a signal to a B-2 bomber to drop one on your house :P

Well, to be closer to exact,

    1 inch = 2.54cm
    therefore, 1cm = .393700787 inches

    3/8 cm = .375 inches (.3937008 - .375 = .018)
    2/5 cm = .4 inches (.4 - .3937008 = .0062992)

.0062992 is less of a difference that .018.

Therefore 2/5 is the closer approximation...whoever that argument belongs to. I can't even remember.

Actually, 3/8(15/40) < 2/5(16/40) , so he can't be "quoting things being a little bit larger than they actually are".Quoting smaller( modesty:~)!)
LOL!! I am from Europe. Moved to the States about 7 years ago. My initial thought about changing from the metric system to the measuring system used here in US- messed up!! This thread actually proves my first thought, we have here people arguing about a difference of 1/40 of an inch - can you even aproximate that with the naked eye?

Yes, 2/5 of an inch is a closer aproximation,on paper, but not the most practical one. I wanna see anyone reading exactly 2/5 of an inch using a ruler/tape measure:~)!
