The large UK retailer Shopto has confirmed that a new PlayStation 3 bundle including the upcoming blockbuster game Grand Theft Auto IV will be hitting Europe on April 29th.
It was still unclear however who would be distributing the product in the UK. Gem, which has the exclusive distribution contract with publisher Take-Two, and Centresoft, the company that handles distribution for Sony seem the two likely candidates.
"We know for a fact it is coming out in Europe and we are expecting an announcement in the UK any time," confirmed Igor Cipolletta, COO of Shopto.com.
"We are not sure if Gem or Centresoft are distributing it yet, that seems to be the hold up," he added.
The bundle will have a MSRP of GBP 299 and will be on retail shelves the same day as the launch of the game.

This could be a big momentum gainer for Sony. There are so many people who havenot purchased one of the next-gen consoles. GTA's name is so popular and has so much pull that if you can get the ps3 and GTA4 together some people that may be undecided on a console may choose the ps3 just b/c of the bundle. Microsoft had better follow suit if sony pulls this off. Also Microsoft will probably pull well ahead of the Wii in sales with the release of GTA since Wii isnot going to have a release for the Wii.

Quadpost much... well I already pre-ordered my GTA4 for the ps3, I don't have the money to buy a bundle anyways. I also Pre-ordered MGS4 LE and I can't wait for the MGO beta download on the 17th. :)

Well that makes sense if you already own a PS3. I thought this bundle would apply to those who didn't have a PS3.
