Nintendo of America's senior director of project development, Tom Prata, has revealed that there are at least 100 WiiWare games currently in development.
Citing WiiWare's early success, Prata also explained that the developing games are the products of "working with developers... to bring the products to consumers in a timely manner".
"Currently, there are about 100 games in development for WiiWare at various stages of completion," Prata added.
WiiWare, which was launched in the US last month with six games, in Japan in April with nine games, and Europe on May 20th with eight games has seen early success, especially for the game LostWinds.

Most of them are pretty decent so far. TV Show King is a good one for partys, and Pop can be mildly addictive. Lost Wind really shows what developers can be capable of: great gameplay and decent graphics, though a short campaign.
The best addition IMHO so far is the remake of Dr. Mario, which includes Mii characters and online gaming. If they remix some of the older titles like that, WiiWare could go a long way.
I just have an odd feeling that a large portion of those 100 games might be Xbox Live Arcade titles being ported, or other fluff, such as the PC flash-based Defend Your Castle, which isn't suited for the Wii or my money!

As long as the games don't play like the old NES titles do. Has any one else had problems with the delayed response on some of the old games like SMB and SMB 3. You push the jump button and there is a delayed response time. It really sucks.
You know what would also be cool on some of these games is to some how set it up so that people could try them for say 10 min play time to see if they are worth buying.
Cause if what SProdigy says is true I would have rathered spent money on some of these new games rather than the old ones.

Some of the newer ones are really cool, but too bad EGM only highlighted Final Fantasy in their mag, which they did give a high rating, but I haven't tried it yet.
Defend Your Castle is pretty much crap. The appeal wears off quickly.
Lost Wind utilizes the Wiimote to blow a wind gust on the screen, which moves your character, and manipulates how you play. It's very cool, kind of "Zelda-esqe" but REALLY short. I beat it in 3 hours and some report 2 or less.
Pop is like popping bubbles and is fun if you have someone else to play head-to-head.
TV Show King is like a cross between Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune (with Mario Party type booby prizes on the wheel.) Once again, more fun with friends because the AI cheats 50% of the time. (This also integrates your Mii characters into the game which is very cool.)
Dr. Mario RX Online is a gem. If you liked the original, or if you are into games like Tetris, you MUST give this a serious look. The gameplay is the same as it was before, so it's not a new game by any means, but the inclusion of online play and the updated touches on the graphics and sound are very cool. There's also a 4-player mode (not online) where everyone plays all at once, which is crazy.
I haven't tried NES games on the Wii, because I can just play them using emulators on my Xbox 1 or PC, so the money would be wasted. I do, however, have a few N64 games, and I have yet to notice any glitchy controls.

I totally agree. In another thread, I talked about that. The recently released Nintendo Channel caused alot of my headaches: it's huge! Also be aware that the Nintendo Channel has a game save file that's also pretty big.
They either need a HDD or unlock the SD card so Channels can run from it. (As of now they can only run from the internal memory.)

I agree with SProdigy, run or store the games on the SD cards. My kids are filling up their WII with the save games and the other channels pretty quickly.

I agree the WiiWare stuff is nice. I actually rather enjoyed Defend Your Castle, I've gotten at least $5 of entertainment out of it. Can't wait to get Dr. Mario and go home and play with my family. *nostalgia* :)
But where is the downloadable content for the Wii? Rock Band is finally coming out and I still don't have any new songs for Guitar Hero yet... >:(
