Apple today announced that the 1 millionth iPhone 3G was sold on Sunday, making it an even hotter product than its predecessor, the original iPhone.
“iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world.”
The iPhone 3G is currently available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, and the US and will be offered in France later this week.
Apple's press release announcing the sales figures didn't mention what percentage of iPhones had been successfully activated.

*Sigh* Still waiting for my paycheck to buy it. My old iPhone is on life support waiting for the plug to be pulled. With the screen cracked and peices falling off, a huge malformation of the metal near the silence switch, and a half broken digitizer I'm surpised Steve Jobs hasn't come to my house personally to slap me! And the sad thing is that I still use it! Of course, I cant use certain things since the top half of the screen doesn't work...
Maybe I can my Afterdawn app to the app store?

A combination of drops and hardware bugs. Had I not been lazy and just sent mine into apple when I should have, I would have a perfectly good iPhone right now..... Damn you prokrastination! (yes I ment to put k, inside joke)

No stereo bluetooth, no video recording, a measley 2MP camera (though upgraded from 1.3, no voice dialing, REQUIRES I-TUNES which is as invasive as programs get on a computer. It's a fad, it decent quality but garbage regarding features. It's all hype and unless you're a flaming fag looking to accentuate your daily outfits, this phone is run-of-the-mill and downright plain and boring. Samsung Omnia is way better in quality and features, LG Viewty, and LG Secret too. Sheesh..........Those who buy this Iphone are nothing more than sheeple running with the pack and probably aren't very good at thinking for themselves.

I'm almost crying with laughter.. http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/0,39029453,49298124,00.htm Quote: Crave heard second-hand from an Apple employee that O2's system runs on Windows and requires Microsoft's Internet Explorer -- clearly the Macs at the Regent Street store weren't running Boot Camp.
Now if I was an apple exec that would end O2's exclusive deal immediately.. Tying the activation to a competitors product only? Oh dear.. hahaha.
BTW.. My site is deliberately coded to display wrong on IE.. M$ need to learn to make a standards compliant browser... something they have consistently failed to achieve.
