Yeah okay there dumbass, before you go on calling a great actor a sucker and a moron, I'd read up on my facts. Heath put up a great performance in the film and I don't think you can judge him without seeing the film yourself but I understand that may be a while since you like staying at home watching movies by yourself and not going out and enjoying them with their friends.. if you know what they are. Also, don't go around comparing Heath to your drug-abusing father, as ufcmoe said, he died of an accidental overdose on some pills. Next time don't make assumptions that people are praising his performance just because he is dead. Get out of your house and go watch the movie ( wow 2 years..) otherwise don't make such a senseless post.

Wow, I thought I was being hard on him for that post. But I've read a few post similar to this, so I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought that way.

I think enough people have proven you wrong. Theres not really much to say, so I'll report you. I guess my reasoning should be bad language, and just acting like you want to start something for no apparent reason. *Reported*

I really enjoyed this movie, and agree that Heath Ledger's performance was extraordinary. Not many actors would have dedicated themselves into this role like Ledger did.
Awful shame about the accidental overdose.

embo22000 - a news item is no place to be irrelevant, or to bother people with your personal problems. Now let's have this thread back on track..
And bad-mouthing someone who's no longer with us ie deceased is pretty low. Again, let's not forget this is a news item.

Heath's performance was astounding. The character had sort of a charisma that you wanted to like, until his depravity was exposed. And it was a constant see-saw. Whenever you thought he was a normal person turned criminal, the twitch of his mouth, the licking of his lips, the random snarling brought you back to the reality of how psychotic the character was. He would talk in a mellow, soothing voice, but then instantly become this fierce, evil creature, and then snap back into mellow. And when he spoke in a mellow voice, I found myself wanting to believe what he was saying, regardless of how twisteed it was. I wanted to believe that something made him this way, but in the end, he came across as completely enigmatic and purely evil. The way he walked would make you feel sorry for the guy if you didn't know him, until you realized he was choking kittens with his bare hands underneath his trench coat (that didn't happen in the movie - just trying to describe how twisted he was). Heath brought all of these little details together into one consistent character throughout the entire movie.
I was reading about how Heath prepared for this role and it's pretty amazing. I was completely mesmerized by his portrayal and personally feel it is the best villian role I've ever seen on screen.
Bluray is a def purchase!

I am having a difficult time containing myself from seeing it with the SAME mentality. All IMAX flicks [here] were sold out on SUNDAY............can you believe that??? and frankly I just don't want crappy seats so I'm going to see it Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

You haven't even seen the film and you're judging Heaths performance? Get outta your house bud.. sad to know you're one of the few that won't be seeing the film for another 6+ months and I don't think you should watch the movie at all since you obviously have a problem with Heath. The reason I'm defending him is because I don't like idiots who make stupid posts not knowing what they're talking about. Just because no one will care when you pass or 'dissapear' doesn't mean you can bash someone as talented as he was.

The reason i don't go to thethers is because movie time to me means relaxing time. There's way better things to do than going to theathers. But it does suck to wait like i do. I'll probably give in and watch it this weekend and if i don't think is that great (like batman begins wich i thought it draged too much. it was too slow therefore it sucked) i'm going to hunt you all down and make you watch crappy movies all day buahahahaha. By the way last movie i watched in theares wa spiderman 3 in i max and the movie was awesome but the imax sucked. i tought they were suposed to big bigger screen than usual but it wasn't. oh well

Okay, i couldn't stand it any longer and had to satisfy my curiosity. After all, they say that curiosity killed the cat
and
Satisfaction brought it back.
I went to see it in a packed theater, ended up in the third row back with my neck craned at an unhealthy angle, and enjoyed the hell out of myself. (minus the neck ache later :) mind you)
I will buy this when it comes out. Great movie.

Awww man, that blows. I refuse to watch a movie sitting in those seats. If I walk into a theater and everything looks full but the seats up front, I just walk out.
GM, I would never lead you down the wrong path - I promise!

Not bad.. not bad indeed.. my rip is very dark, as usual, but there is still too much epilepsy causing cgi for my liking. I don't go to the cinema ever.. it's a horrible experience in Wigan.. expensive, long journey on a bus full of scumbag council estate brats with a walk around one of the more dangerous parts of town afterwards. Not the recipe for a good evening...
Story wise.. haven't we been here before? and as for performances.. Adam West is and always will be Batman for me ;)
bbc4 7.35 Batman's Anniversary - Part One Part one of two. The caped crusaders receive an emergency call from Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara.. damn.. theres a surprise.

Adam West, the mayor of Quahog? ;)
So I take it some of you didn't like it because it was just like the one with Keaton and Nicholson?

Typically, i'm the same way. In this case, the theater is half an hour from my house, and i was laden with overpriced theater food and beverages.
I stuck it out. :)

Something like that.. I didn't say I disliked it, just maybe given the budget they could have dug up a new script.....

Right on, you still need to make your way to the Alamo Drafthouse. Or start a petition in your town to get one there. No more over priced theater food! Take a look and the food and drink menu.

Fred...
Go see it if you can!! My wife and I went last week and it was great!! They had the sound turned WAY up and the theater was shaking!!! Good acting and NOT like the normal Batman movies... There was some actual plot to the movie and the villain played in the movie, JOKER, wasn't the normal Batman villain. He was VERY dark and you just wanted to kill him throughout the entire movie. lol. Get it when you can... :D

Hi there Mr. Greenman, I really wish I could, I miss going to the theaters big time, I don't go any more for several reasons, two main reasons my hearing, and the other the so often inconsiderable d%3k heads who have no regard for other people, yacking, cell phones and so on, the last movie both myself and my wife saw was Dancing with Wolves, it was one of those evenings that we kinda had enough, both her and I almost got locked up, that was it for us, especially her.
I do have to admit I did go see King Kong with my nieghbor, we went during the day with hardly anybody there, it was great to see the big screen again, but damn it I missed half the dialog, yeah losing your hearing kinda sucks, but I still enjoyed it.
And last I'll tell ya the last time I went I really did enjoy, I went by myself at around the same time early, I saw APOCALYPTO, it was subtitled of course, I was in movie heaven again, I really miss going to theaters, I dont know your age greenman, but there was a time when you didn't hear a peep out of anybody, if you got just a little out of hand you were corrected by everybody around you.
Going to the movies today isn't cheap any more, your excited to see a great movie, pay a high price which I would not mind if you were surrounded by good people and not a bunch of d%#k heads, something I can never understand, why people go pay and see a movie to yak threw it.
If it wasnt for my hearing problem I would still go and see this movie regardless of a-holes or not, I really like Christian Bale, ever since Empire of the Sun I knew this kid was special, I think he's a better Batman from all of them, I liked Ledger also, what a waste, and I love Morgan Freeman, one of my all time 10 favorite actors, I love a good movie, and all you guys rate this movie highly, so yes I cant wait, like my kids use to say, I'm cited.
