According to a DigiTimes report, Apple has ordered 100 million 1 gigabit NAND flash chips, sparking rumors that the upcoming iPhone 3G model will have storage capacity of 32 GB. The amount of chips purchased would be enough for 6 million 16GB iPhones or 3 million 32GB models.
There is also the possibility that a larger capacity 64GB iPod Touch is on the way, however the iPhone seems more possible considering the upcoming iPhone 3.0 firmware will add video-recording functionality.
The NAND Flash chips are also used in a lot of Apple products, such as the Nano and Shuffle, but the huge order has the rumor mill working overtime.
We will keep you updated.

A 32GB iPhone will probably cost like $2000 and then require at least a $60 plan on a 3 year term, friggen' ridiculous.
I don't know why people buy these... It's all about the name I guess. There are plenty of better phones that are just cheaper period. You can't even take videos on it's crappy camera, an option my 4 year old Nokia with the 0.3mp camera has. I think it was the first camera phone, the one with the paper faceplate things :P

Sure, but for the people who don't or can't, what do they do?
It isn't necessary but it's nice to have...

when it comes down to it, mactards are mactards. they must always feed from the almighty teat of Apple. my brother is a mactard and we were looking at external hard drives last night for his macbook, and i showed him an awesome 3 TB external hard drive that was, brand new with a 1 yr warranty, only $120. he said (i shit you not): "Yeah, that's cool...but it's not from Apple."
We looked at the Apple site and they had a 1 TB (A THIRD of the size!) and they were selling it for $499! What a fckng joke. Mactards deserve to get their wallets raped, their idiotic obsession with their inferior OS is retarded.

Your brother is just a retard. I have an iMac and a 5.5G iPod Video and I have no problems buying non- Apple stuff, actually I prefer to because it's far cheaper, like my 1TB drive that I got for $120 (2 years ago, that was a steal) and my iPod is starting to go so unless I don't get a good enough celly I'll probably be buying a 120GB Zune because they give more bang for your buck. Like what, I think they're a little cheaper or the same price, offer a bigger screen and wifi and a free docking station with a TV out. I remember when Apple used to do that. Back then when I bought my iMac they were a quality company but now it's all gone downhill. Can't say the same for M$ though because they're just desperate to gain some marketshare....

1) Only I can call my brother names. And I never said he was retarded. I said he was a mactard.
2) Apple < Microsoft. Always has been, always will be. Once you look past the aesthetics of apple products, you realize just how crappy their stuff truly is.

Lol sorry
Mactard, retard, all the same thing to me... I just look at my friend. He's one of those guys, only we call him a retard because his cousin gave him a Macbook Pro for free (the last model, little dented and whatever but it was FREE) but he still wants to spend like $3000 on a new one even though I keep telling him the upgrades in the new one are no where near worth an extra $3000 and that what he has is pretty much the same thing, just not all aluminum and it doesn't have a stupid glossy screen. Makes me mad just thinkin about it. It's like throwing $3000 in the garbage... Retard...
