All this bullshit Data, I believe what I see in the trenches, I know many people were I live, I know people where I worked and places I visit, hardly anybody is intersted in bluray except the fact the kids have thier ps3's.

You must live in a crappy neighborhood then.

Where I live everyone has at least a 1080p 50 inch LCD or plasma or a 1080p front projection system and at least 2 BluRay capable disc players in their house.

I live in the Philadelphia suburbs, no where near a crappy area, but know many people in both the suburbs and the city, not many care about bluray, what I have learned that most that invested in this rip as I call it will fearsly defend thier resoning in spending that kind of money because they already did sadly.

Most people I know do not go out and buy new things because they have unlimited bucks or have to be the first on the block to have the new toys just for status and some really make themselves believe this bluray has a great visual differenace.

I do agree if you own sets that are 50in. or more there is a slight difference for the better, most people do not own 50in. sets or above, because anything under that there is hardly any difference at all, not for all that extra money anyway, I have a 40in. sonyxbr with the 120hrz rate or whatever the hell they call it, I have put in bluray and a regular dvd, nothing, I have brought over many friends over just to see maybe its just my eyes that can't tell the differenace, not one person that came over saw any differance.

Than I'm suppose to re-do my dvd library cause of that, I have to admitt going from VHS to DVD was considerable, DVD to BLUray, a rip.

But other than that, I'm still glad your happy with your setup.

Just goes to show that your "trench" is different from my "trench" and you can't just generalize.

The numbers are still valid and are not "bs" as you claim. 2009 Q1 sales are still almost double 2008 Q1 sales no matter how much you wish it wasn't so.

Look, this is the last time I'll comment, you have your view and in no way am I trying to change it, like I said before you guys are die hards on this view especially after spending the kind of money that you bluray guys already have.

You bring up your data numbers again, I don't care what those numbers try to emply cause thier bull anyway, when you get to be my age you become a little smarter and much more sceptical, kinda even tells me why did I even get involved in this thread because the outcome is just as I tought it would be.

My concern was not to down anybody, but to down the circumstance thats involved, because people are getting ripped, again I don't even get close to believing those stats, it's what I hear with my own ears and see with my own eyes, in other words yes in the trenches, and the huge dumming down of America which has fallen into this category, it just makes me sad, a very small minority stands by you, unfortunatly most do not.

I'm very happy you are enjoying your bluray, it's just that most of us are still enjoying our regular dvd's as much as you enjoy your bluray, and the biggest difference we have more money in our pockets because of it, unless there is some drastic difference in viewing which bluray does not even come close I'll invest, but till than I've wasted enough money thru my younger years, one day you'll get the point, in the mean time I'm just an old fart what do I know, enjoy your bluray, I'm happy for ya.
