According to reports by TechCrunch and MacRumors, Apple has ordered a large amount of cameras normally used in iPhones, suggesting that an upcoming iPod Touch will include the cameras.
Says TC, Apple has “placed an order for a massive number of camera modules of the type they include in the iPhone. These are inexpensive cameras, in the $10 range. And the size of the order, our source says, means they can only be used for one thing - the iPods”.
MR posted a pic of what they are calling an 'iPod Touch 3G' case, which includes a hole in the back for a camera.
Any upgraded Touch would most likely include a bump in RAM, an updated GPU and a faster processor as well.

I agree, I don't own an Iphone because the plans are terrible.
(They should have a plan like boost mobile $50 a month unlimited everything)
If they come out with A Ipod touch that does everything the 3GS does except make phone calls Apple will make a mint!
I would buy one But I would also want GPS in it because of the apps.

I'm not going to buy a new one until they have gps on it. That would be nice. The other thing I kind of want for some strange reason is FM radio. I don't know why it's just sometimes I want to listen to the radio.

AT&T licks testicles and who the f wants their music or interupted by a phone call, you could buy 4 ipod touches a year for the price you pay in service charges, I love my touch for internet, music, games, etc and it cost me 400$(32GB) forever! Oh yeah and have fun with your fastest slow data plans, when WiMax will be out in a year and will make cellular networks obsolete. So enjoy your loss big guy!

FINALLY!!! i was waiting for this to come out. I wanted an iphone, but didnt want the plan. I just hope the cam will include video. Im hoping for GPS but it will probably be unlikely, GPS requires internet everywhere, and ipod cant provide that, so they probably wont install the software.

You can use the iPhone with out getting their spendy plan and just using it as a normal cell connect plan, but of course you'll pay more for the phone.
I agree with Morreale what a waist! But the sheep will still buy it so knock yourself out Apple because your customers will follow no matter what.
Every time they release a new device everyone flys to get one and everytime, they have major problems but still with all of the complaints from the customers they still come back for more, now that's crazy!

I have got this news from MacRumors several days ago. The case from a trusted source: Uxsight.com.
Not sure if it's believable. I hope it may become reality not just a rumor.
