Android owners may soon be able to purchase Android Market apps with PayPal

correct me if im wrong but with all the apps available for smartphones i have only seen one or two that are actually useful the rest seem to be just gimmicky rubbish

I have at least a dozen good apps, ignoring games and emulators. Sure, most of them are just to provide functionality that the OS should include to start with, but the Android does not include such features, nor does any mobile OS.

I'm still not going to buy any apps from the market...there isn't much point when the DRM built into the market is so orwellian that I can not download most free apps, let alone the ones I purchase. Google keeps adding more and more features to the market, yet they refuse to do anything about the massive problems that have been there since the earliest days of the market. It is easy to pirate apps, yet it is impossible to buy them legally? Get it together Google!

The list goes on.. There are a TON of excellent apps for Android, and Google keep making it a lot more easier for developers. I personally can't wait for the N64 emulator and soon-to-be VLC app for Android.

Also, KillerBug; DRM in the market? I've bought a lot of apps and never had any trouble. As long as you are using a credit card (Not a Debit card) your payment should go through fine. You also have the option to refund the app if you change your mind and you don't like it. Now that's very good customer service. Also, Google will soon be implementing software to help developers prevent app piracy.

They apply DRM to everything; not just the paid apps. Many free apps will only show up on certain devices, in spite of the fact that the makers want them on all devices. Heck TV.com isn't even in my market! How do I get a refund when I can't see the app to begin with...and it is free?

Also, the refunds are somewhat limited...if you buy an app, and then you get a firmware update a month later and now the app isn't even in the market for you, you loose both the app and your money.

In spite of all the "market fix"es that are out there, the only good fix I have found is to use a crummy, outdated POS firmware...I have to backup, wipe, flash the old firmware, install the app(s), backup the app(s), wipe, and restore the first backup. That is a huge pain in the butt just to buy an app; it is like they are trying to force me to pirate apps.

...And as for this new DRM addition, these will only serve to force me to use pirated apps; as my extremely long and bothersome method of getting apps will no longer work.

Omg is like world is going to end cause u cant get tv.com.... fyi apps that dont show on ur device is because ur device is not capable of using it... support and limitation on apps come from developers not google...1 more thing adroid is not made to do everytging out of the box, thats why is apps for every demand... my computer didnt even came with a OS... My OS didnt came with chrome... My chrome didnt came with flash, but is all available just like on android

I mention TV.com because I use that as a test; it is available on just about every android device. And yes, my android device is among the ones that are meant to get it. Using an outdated firmware, I am able to see it in the market...but with a current firmware, a search says that it isn't even in the market. Oh, and my device can use it fine.
