Microsoft gets new partners to support Windows Media

Microsoft Inc. announced yesterday that it has made contracts for bunch of new partners for supporting Windows Media in audio and video distribution and encoding.

New partners include Thomson Multimedia (manufacturer of RCA Lyra mp3 player), General Instruments (company makes cable tv boxes) and Texas Instruments (which makes, among other stuff, audio & video decoding and encoding chips).
