A royal iPod

17 June 2005 21:05 by James "Dela" Delahunty | 20 comments

A royal iPod Ok, so this isn’t exactly very important news but you know us, we like to throw you some interesting but completely useless info every now and then. While this is nothing to you and me, you can bet Steve Jobs would be delighted to read that one of Apple's latest customers was Queen Elizabeth II. It was reported by The Sun that the Queen authorised the purchase of a silver 6GB iPod mini. The Queen may have been the last person you'd guess to get an iPod, but according to an "insider", she loves music and was impressed by how small and handy the iPod is.

Prince Andrew is believed to have been behind the purchase. In 2001 he bought the Queen a mobile phone. However, it is unlikely the Queen will pay iTunes a visit to purchase music to store on her new gadget but will have someone simply assist her in selecting music. "Prince Andrew will probably also help out because he's a real dab hand with gadgets." the report states. So there you have it, either you can look at this as confirmation that the iPod is appealing to people other than young adults or simply confirmation that the British papers tend to get a little excited about such small details.

Yes spooky2k this news is there to show just how stupid some news from britain can be when you're talking about the royal family and seriously over-priced crap Apple gadgets. Even reading what I wrote it's obvious I'm not taking it seriously but still I think you are the only one to actually "get it".

The news report from The Sun does actually state "Authorized the purchase" - I added this in for fun because it sounds as stupid to me as it does to you. As for the news story, ITS A JOKE, A STAB AT THE FACT THAT BRITS WOULD ACTUALLY MAKE THIS SHIT FRONT PAGE NEWS!! THATS WHY I POSTED IT!! WAKE UP!! ;-)

erm...yeah, thats why its the biggest selling newpaper in the UK. lol. teh sun pretty much swayed the elections into labours hands for htis and the past elections. its a huge influence because its such a huge selling newspaper.
and Dela, i did get it :)
Ppl who moan or yawn...lighten up!

the sun is a crap newspaper! it sells because its cheap and easy to read, i think they tested the reading age on the sun and it was about that of a 8 year old!

the reason the sun support labour, and who ever is in government at the time is simple, its called page 3, if they keep the government sweet then they can carry on with page 3, which is the only reason 15 year old boys buy it!

the sun swap from government to government every time a new party is elected

jpp01uk, where did you get that sig? I always thought the Sun was a fake tabloid like national enquirer.
