I've studied sociology long enough to tell you that humans are guided by their emotions. What you describe in your statement, is essentially, a robot. That's why we try our best to uphold these ideals.

I think you and I can agree, that a lot of religous people accept the science of, for instance, reverse psychology to further impose their views onto the open-minded. Yet when the science of abortion comes into play, say the issue be when the fetus' heart has not pumped a beat so it isn't considered murder, they reject it with loud mouth antics and words that you think the devil would speak of. Honestly, I feel sympathy for Jesus Christ. And hey, some of my good friends are Christian, and they accept friends of any religion.
