Quote: Quit your b*tching people....ps3 launch don't mean jacksh*t. Who is stupid enough to buy a ps3 unless it is not mod? Seriously.....everyone is just waiting till it's mod..then they will buy it. Only *retards* buy ps3 at launch!!!!
LOL, you do realise it wouldnt be worth it to mod this system? it costs about $1000 for a bluray burner and like $50 a blank BD, wouldnt be cost effective to do that for another few years when prices drop. And to backup to hdd, games are already 20gb+ the PS3 stock hdd is 60gb so barely 3 games and you need a new hdd.
Looks like im part of the 20% there Zippydsm, am a very hardcore gamer just wish it wasnt being released in February-March where i am. Did see a thing on the WII the other day, wasnt planning on getting one, but after seeing that looks like i might be getting one by christmas now.
One thing i must say for Bluray, its bloody lucky the 360 didnt have HD-DVD built in, i just dont think it would have been able to handle it. HD-DVD has a very good launch and i reckon the Xbox making it compulsory would have given it such a boost that BD wouldnt be able to keep up, and would just end as another failed Sony format.

I think that anyone who buys a system within the first year of release before the bugs can be fixed has more money than they know what to do with (can always give some to be =D ). There are always going to be bugs and to go along with it there is only a hand full of games at launch anyways, so what are you going to do? Play PS2 games on your PS3 if there isnt a good RPG at launch?
By this time next year all three systems will have a good catalog of games out so we can actually have some facts to argue about on the which is better 360vPS3 forum and the systems might actually be halfway stable.

dont forget that people who buy consoles at launch will most probably be the ones to have all the crazy mods available to them. Most of the new builds for consoles are put out for piracy protection. whats happening with the psp is a good example..

you think that is bad in sonys own ps3 forum im hearing nasty things every thing from the console running to hot to the console even after the firmware update not being able to connect to the internet and recomendations from everyone in japan purchase a tv with hdmi or suffer in loss of graphics quality
and even funnier even though sony has tried to stop selling of there ps3 systems on ebay ebay is facing a lawsuit now because of violations in there own sellers contracts that has current ebay sellers mad as hell
this is turning into a bull %$#% race who can bull the most will sell there console unlike the nintendo wii where nintendo has been 100% truthfull and telling gamers the facts about there console before they purchase one
where sonys game is just show videos and people will be dumb enough to buy im sorry to say unless i see a display model running then im not interrested at all and so far i haven't seen a single ps3 system display model running where i have seen hundreds of nintendo wii displays running and playing games

tabletpc, you idiot....Wii is retarded!!!! Out of the three....you should get a frimewired xbox360 first and then a ps3. Wii is last. That is.....if you have the money. Not me though... I am poor basta*d!!!

Pessimism, from the Latin pessimus (worst), denotes a belief that the experienced world is the worst possible. It describes a general belief that things are bad, and tend to become worse; or that looks to the eventual triumph of evil over good; it contrasts with optimism, the contrary belief in the goodness and betterment of things generally. A common conundrum illustrates optimism versus pessimism with the question - does one regard a given glass of water as: "Is the glass half empty or half full? Conventional wisdom expects optimists to reply with half full and pessimists to respond with half empty.

I actually saw a PS3 at Best Buy yesterday and you could play some racing game on it. Dont know what it was called but it was a motorcycle/dirt bike racing game, looked everybit as good as the demos that TabletPC was complaining about. Also, the Wii at Best Buy didnt have any games avaible, just running some DVD that showed clips of games.

Meh,until the PS3 shows its more than "let us contunie" in shallow gaming I can do without....the wii is on the knifes edge if Zelda TWP and MP3 are not great then even Nintendo has gotten lost...
BTW I thought Zelda WW was ok at best....

@ZippyD
what are you talking about? some things the ps3 brings us:
sixaxis
custom content for games from pc versions
ability to install any powerpc OS (linux, OSX)
back catalog of games on previous itterations of the PS for download
a very open and flexible system for homebrew material.
the space of bluray (in lair levels are well over 4gb, and their are many)
a web browser
those are what i cant think of now, since i havnt experienced all of what there is to.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because you're so busy going from a to z, that there's 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

PC games are crap. PC is just for spoiled rich basta*d kids. There are only two genre of games on pc. Diablo and warcaft type...along with fps. Get a frimewire 360 then a ps3. Nough siad.

Well AntiHero, you summed up virtually all games there with your description of computer games: RPG (Diablo), Real Time Strategy (Warcraft), and fps. Also I am definately not rich nor a bastard but I enjoy computer games. It doesnt take a lot of money to buy a good computer if you make smart initial investments. Also, if you get both a frimewired (dont know what that is) 360 and a PS3, that is more than enough money spent to get a good computer and games considering that computer games are cheaper than 360 or PS3 games.
Zippy, all games are shallow graphics first now days, dont just put that on Sony. M$ is the same way though Nintendo is trying to keep gameplay a factor, but I think that games are going to be really simple with the Wii. They want it to be a system that anyone can play and for that to happen games have to be simple enough for everyone to understand.

PC crap? half the console games aday were on PC or were stolen from PC 0-o
The reason the PC market is what it is today is because the console market thanks to MS has hurt it >>

You idiot...it's the other way around. The only reason pc games are existly is because of console games. PC games need to steal games from consoles inorder to keep them alive. How sad!!!!

uummm no....don't forget now that consoles have cought up with PC tech you see more and more PC games on the consoles,70% of RTS's are PC first console 2nd.
7 times out f ten I prefer a mouse and KB over a pad,for FPSs its almsot a must.
Of corse the whole patching thing for PC games is annoying but consoles games used to have one shot for being finished..and some are not finished...its even worse now adays with the whole patching systems on the consoles now publishers can push for ealiy release dates on games that are not finished...hell with the 360 and PS3 they are mini PC's with limited use, pick your posin it still going to give you rot gut..the PS3 is to costly to the point you wonder what they are thinking,MS dose not have a clue the PC market is ok but you have to go out of your way to find titles this leaves the WII as the better of choices in my book and the PC next simply because MS has screwed up to much.
