PSP gets 3.50 update

1 June 2007 3:49 by James "Dela" Delahunty | 17 comments

PSP gets 3.50 update Sony has released another firmware update for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) console. The 3.50 update adds support for Remote Play, which allows anybody with a PlayStation 3 and a PSP to access the multimedia content stored on the PS3 from anywhere an Internet connection can be made. While accessing Blu-ray or DVDs using the PSP is not possible, users can stream other videos, music and games to the handheld over the Internet.

The update also added an RSS channel guide for users.
  • You can now connect a PSP system to a PS3 system via the Internet using [Remote Play].
  • [Communication Settings] has been added as an option to the [Remote Play] menu.
  • [RSS Channel Guide] has been added as a feature under [RSS Channel].

Way too many updates for so little major improvements:
It's being 1 year that I have my PSP, and it's unbelievable how many times I've got to update it! And I still don't see any revolutionnary improvement

Thats because they put out craploads of updates to block loopholes that could be used to hack it.

This is all well and good but still does not fix the limited storage a user has on a psp. They still need to increase that drastically at least i say again to 10gig. I was thinking about buying a psp before i got my ipod i had to knock it back because of the storage factor. I may look into getting one if they increase from the max of 8gig to 10gig.

I have to carry both (mp4 and PSP), so I agree, there isn't nearly enough mem on th psp I currently have 2 4 gig and a 1 gig card put always left needing more content stored. The update is useless to me

    ROFLMBO-
*gasps for air* I doubt it just because an actual down-to-the-day date was given.

Doesnt expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected and therefore mean your expecting the expected which was the unexpected until you expected it?

How many of these updates are really adding new features? It seems more of them are created to prevent people from running their own software.
