Written by Petteri Pyyny (Google+) @ 16 Mar 2001 23:58

Guys at Nullsoft kept us waiting slightly longer for this new alpha than for previous alpha versions. But anyway, WinAMP 3 alpha 5 is here and available for download.
New features compared to WinAMP alpha 4:

- working eq?!
- even smaller default skin
- fixed-width bitmap fonts
- logical font names for various text objects, yay for skinners
- playlists load now
- open/save file dialogs remember last dir opened from/saved to
- less AVS bugs
- even better skin switching
- did someone say scaling? =)

And as for the previous alpha versions, this version is not available through WinAMP's website, but instead you should use one of the distro sites such as AfterDawn.com.
