PSP Minis headed to PS3?

Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 05 Dec 2009 12:41 User comments (8)

PSP Minis headed to PS3? According to Joystiq, the small downloadable games, PSP Minis, will soon be made available for the PlayStation 3.
Sources say the full transition will be made before Christmas and all the Minis will be made available for playback on the console.

Currently, the PSP Minis can be downloaded on the PS3 and then transferred over to the PSP but will now give users more options.

Sony will not "comment on rumor or speculation."

It just makes sense...many people don't want to buy a PSP when they only want 1 or 2 games for the system.

Are PSP Minis like the Playstation store for PSPs? Or are they PSP Games?

You download them from PS Store and you store them as long as you like to the PS3, but you can play them only to PSP.
The porpuse of storing them to PS3 is that you can deletem them from your PSP and reinstall them at anytime through your PS3 without the need of downloading them again.

To me they sound similar to something like WiiWare and the Xbox 360 Arcade. Just smaller games that you can't buy in the store.

The story is rather vague...do they mean they're porting PSP mini games to the PS3 or will actually run the PSP titles via emulation?

That is a great question...a while back they said they were bringing PS2 titles to the PSN store, but there have only been a few of them, and none of the ones I wanted. This is because they are re-writen for the PS3...big games like GT4 are just too much work to get going. Let's hope it is emulation.
