Rank 12 and majority of those ahead of MW2 are Nintendo games. I guess I shouldn't be surprise by those DS games that are aim toward little kids.

I reckon, Infinity Ward completely screwed up multiplayer:
- There is almost no good maps for Search and Destroy (the best cod 4 gametype).
- Removed/altered weapons (M60, M4A1 etc).
- No limbs blown off if hit by explosives.
- No detailed leaderboards or after-game report (like in cod 5).
- Complete change of controls... grenades and claymores are in the same category.
- Only one claymore but two noob tubes.
- Unreal aspects with rockets... in real life the at4 can only be fired once, then it is discarded. In MW2 the at4 can fire multiple rockets.
- No NVG's.
- No partying up/joining squads like you could in cod 5.
- Dodgy in-game voices, the really good voice actors in cod 5 were probably my favourite aspect of the game.
- Music in game... it get's so annoying if you have Turtle Beaches or Astro's.
- Tactical insertions; these make it so easy for idiots to camp in a corner and boost off each other to get nukes.
- Riot shield's... they are not resistant to heavy arms fire, only low calibre pistols. "Body Bunkers" and ballistic shield's are resistant to most heavy calibre fire arms, but would by no means stop multiple 50 cal. bullets. Even if the M82 was in the game the riot shield would probably be able to stop it.
- Two hits (in core) to kill someone with a riot shield. I mean two hits to the head might in real life, but the stupid lethargic hit is not going to "crush" anybody.

I'm not even going to comment on the ease of shooting down harriers.

It's so successful because Call of Duty 4 was really popular with a new perk system and attachments etc, and to boost MW2 sales even more, World at War sucked ass so people were desperate for a new Call of Duty made by Infinity Ward.

My hat goes off to nintendo, they hook people in with the novelty crap like brain training and wii fit, but once the money has been handed over it dont matter if ya get bored of it within a few days/weeks.
I hear stupid comments like "my friend lost 4lbs on wii fit, its great.." what a load of crap, u can lose 4lbs riding a bike everyday instead of plopping ya fat ass in a car, wii fit is not a miracle worker.
And brain training doesn't keep your mind any more active than reading a book, its all bollocks!!! lol

Anyway mw2 owns, it will have long lasting appeal playing online, until it came out I was still hammering cod4, no wii game will have that much lasting appeal.

hate it, call it over rated, yadda yadda yadda, but its fantastic. the SP's story is riviting and capturing, and yes the MP is messedup with the point is its still fun.

my faev mode was SnD, and i played it religiously on cod4, but on MW2, its utter crap, so yes they ruined this. they killed of dedis ont he PC which is annoying due to the hackers. and how can tactical insertions add toa nuke, when they only work when you die? the AT4, has only one shot BTW. i agree about the roit sheilds though.

A little bit innapropriate- but i mean its rated M. My 8 year old neighbor plays it all the time. His dad bans him from the first level- a terrorist level. I SEE WHY.

I don't hate it, I just don't think it's as good as it can be. If I worked at Infinity Ward MW2 would be insane (probably the most narcissistic thing i've posted yet). Single player is good, but it doesn't have a sniper or an AC130 mission (the two best missions in cod 4, and cod 5).

Also, most of the storyline is a rip off of various tv series and movies. In particular Black Hawk Down which has pretty muchthe same storyline as the first mission (if you've seen it you would agree). And the tv series A-team how a group of special forces get framed for a crime they did not commit (it happens in MW2 where Pvt. Allen get's framed for the Russian massacre).

People get nukes by one person camping with somebody on the other team, the person that is getting killed respawns with tactical insertions. I've been in 10+ games where this has happened.

Yes, but you can pick up ammo for it, in reality it's a disposable, one shot launcher. The at4 doesn't even have infrared guidance (in real life), it's purely an anti-tank rocket. Infinity Ward made up the AT4-HS (heat seeking). They really should have consulted with an Aeronautical Engineer about the rockets.

Just to add to the horrible issues with MW2 there is a new exploit out on the 360 that allows griefers to award negative XP and reset ranks! Source

I was 2nd prestige rank 50, now im 2nd rank 1. everyone else in my group is reset as well.
to add to the weirdness:
all of my guns, camos, challenges,attachments, killstreaks, all still set as I had them in my Custom slots.
BUT when i went to customize, they were all locked as if I didnt have them.
So we decided to go play a match, I can rank up and everything, its as if I never got to 2nd. Rank 50.

This Needs to be addressed, or else almot everyone will eventually have their stats reset.

The good news is that prestige ranks, titles, emblems, killstreak rewards and already configured custom classes remain untouched. The bad news is that all previously unlocked weapons and perks are not available to when editing or creating a new custom class.

No official statement from Infinity Ward has been made. Unfortunately, both PC and Console versions of Modern Warfare 2 have been plagued with exploits.
