Video Daily: The PlayStation Phone 'in action'

Video Daily: The PlayStation Phone 'in action' Following Wednesday's blurry "spy" video of the device, we now have a nice, clear "hands on" with the upcoming Sony Ericsson PSP Phone (Z1), although the smartphone still does not have any gaming content available for it.
The oft-rumored device could see an official announcement as soon as December 9th.

It will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1GHz Qualcomm chip, have a 4.1-inch multi-touchscreen, a 5MP camera, 512MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera and 1GB of internal storage.

The smartphone will also have a dedicated gaming app store.

Gaming will be made possible via a slide-out control similar to the PSP.

I really don't see how this thing will succeed. Basically it will be like any other high-end android smartphone that would play roms with the proper emulator but it will have standard portable gaming type buttons instead of having a qwerty keypad. Useless IMO.

I wanna see a gaming demo, in order for this thing to be successful it has to have a big edge over other phones in the gaming department.

I really want to get this. But it's really dependent on the types of games it will have. Since there is no nub stick I guess psp games aren't going to be ported.

this looks like iphone just psp built into it.

The space in between are touch sensitive dual analogue sticks. This is great news. But....I'm sure you'll have to buy games for it through the PSN Store like the PSP Go!. That sucks.

Oh really?! I did not know that. I thought it was some stupid metal bar. Quite interesting then. Maybe they will port psp games then. And being that this is android, I'd imagine it won't be too long before we could play homebrew and ripped games from the store.

Chances that I will get this have increased now.

Really...I saw that playstation icon app in the app list, but the guy skipped right over it. I also saw the thing crash just from opening the keyboard (or where the keyboard would be on a droid 2), so something tells me this might not be ready for a while.

You actually wrote 5MP camera spec twice!

Yeah, I like the two errors in the video. Hahaha.
It's a high possible purchase for me right now. Need to see more.
