Despite several weeks of rumor that a deal was imminent, Reuters is reporting this weekend that Apple is not looking to take a stake in microblogging giant Twitter.
Earlier reports had claimed Apple was looking to invest hundreds of millions to take a minor stake in Twitter. Some reports said Apple had the discussions last year, while other claimed it was still ongoing.
Reuters says there are no current discussions, although they did not rule out past negotiations occurring.
Apple is not known for buying stakes in companies, preferring to buy them outright.
Twitter has 140 million users, and is valued at above $3 billion.
