Sony will support PS3 through 2015

Sony will support PS3 through 2015 Sony VP of hardware marketing John Koller has let customers know this week that the company plans to support the PlayStation 3 through 2015, at the very least.
Says the exec: "A lot of great content is coming. And over the next 2-3 years, the PS3 has got an incredible lineup. We're going to continue supporting the PS3 for the next few years. Absolutely. And we're going to continue supporting it not only that long, but as long as there is a development spigot that's running hot."

Koller then compared the console to the best-selling console of all-time, the PS2, which even to this day sees some new games despite being released in 2000.

In 2006, Sony stated plans for a ten-year life cycle for the PS3, and it looks like the company will try to hold that original commitment.

Sony's PS4 is expected to launch next year before the holidays.

Meh... Since I had my PS3 from I think '07, it's been pretty disappointing to me. My NES has seen more play than consoles from this generation.

Or I'll choose GT2 over GT5 any day, for example.

Quality of games are still lacking. I DO NOT NEED COD every year, like it is a sports game. Sorry, make the game tough. Hell, bring back some WW2 stuff.

Know what I miss? Turn-based RPGs. Those were the shit.

I can't imagine enjoying any future COD or Madden games, nor that they would be any more spectacular on a PS4 vs a PS3.

"Sony's PS4". Exactly. It's theirs and no one elses.

Never bought a PS3, probably won't buy a PS4. There was only one game I ever wanted for PS3. Gran Turismo. One day, PC's will emulate it effortlessly. I know, I'll be waiting a while... I have an unnatural amount of patience :p
