Internet Explorer has a new interface that shows more of each webpage you visit. The streamlined toolbar makes it easier to add websites to your Favorites, search the web, clear your history, and access the other tasks and tools you use most. It also includes support for your favorite seach provivers. With the built-in search box, you can search the web at any time without having to open a search provider page.

Microsoft is also introducing lots of new features including tabbed browsing and RSS feeds.

"Microsoft Internet Explorer is the most popular web browser in the world" is like saying "Communism was the most popular political affilitation under the rule of Stalin and Chairman Mao." No it wasn't, they just didn't have a choice. Once again Microsoft is way behind the times in innovation, compatibility, reliance (unless if you like their 30% rate of fail for the xbox) and features. want a reliable browser? choose cruzapp.com or stainlessapp.com for some real innovation

Downloaded this crap and hate it. Don't like all the questions it asks before you even get to play with it, Java Applets don't work and not everyone will know the switch to compatibility mode when they see a page alienated. After my quick dislike of IE8, I tried to restore to IE7, which in my eyes is the best IE out there, but not very successful in having it work properly. All my toolbars disappeared and their options were all greyed out. Plus it crashed my system. I say, stick with IE7, Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Opera. And when Windows 7 comes, delete IE8 A.S.A.P. and install any of my suggested browsers for safe and easy-to-use surfing.

I have Vista, IE8 started shutting down immediately.IE8 NOT LISTED IN PROGRAM AND FEATURES, had to do a restore. IE 7 is great, leave IE8 alone!

I installed IE8 and it locked up my XP Pro computer (blue screen of death). I had to go in to the safe mode and use system restore to get my PC running again. I re-installed IE7 and will continue to use Firefox as my main browser.

Not sure either of you have actually used IE7. There's some pretty incredible features in it that Firefox hasn't even thought of, much less extended. It also brings in some nifty new keyboard shortcuts.

Still not as good a Firefox. I don't think it ever will be. Looks nice though, and is an improvement over IE6.
