Matroska Splitter v1.0.2.9

Matroska Splitter is a DirectShow splitter for Matroska (.mkv) video files. You need this in order to open .mkv files.

Please note that this splitter is only capable of opening the Matroska container itself -- the actual video/audio found within the Matroska container can be virtually in any possible format, such as DivX5, so you need to download appropriate codecs as well. We recommend that you use AVIcodec or GSpot in order to determine the correct codecs. You can download codecs from here.

There are no directions on this plugin's homepage at SourceForge.net, either. I really don't know how to install this thing. After unzipping it I end up with two AX-files I have no idea what to do with! ... Help anyone?
