dvdSanta v4.00

Commercial demo
Vista / Win2k / WinXP
dvdSanta is an easy to use software for creating DVD Video discs with an easy-to-use one-click user interface.

You can convert and compress video files (AVI, WMV, MPG, ASF, RealVideo, etc) to DVD format, create a slide show with background music from pictures, and even transfer tapes directly from digital camcorder to DVD Video over a Firewire cable.

The video quality created by dvdSanta is rather good, and converting video files is as easy as it could possibly get. You can choose to compress videos at either NTSC or PAL video standard, in high (720x480/576), medium (352x480/576) or low (352x240/288) resolution, and in full screen (4:3) or wide screen (16:9) aspect ratio. The aspect ratio of the input video is handled correctly, so converting a 16:9 AVI to 16:9 DVD works as expected.

Creating photo slide shows has been made easier since v3.40 You can easily add hundreds of pictures to a slide show, and also adjust the settings on all the pictures at once. You can also rotate pictures if necessary. You can record a narration for each photo, which is a very nice feature indeed. You can also add background music files (in MP3, OGG, WAV etc. format) to the slide show and match the length of the slide show to the duration of the music.

dvdSanta is also capable of compressing 9GB DVDs on 4GB DVD-R discs, but I'd suggest using a different software for DVD backups. The software homepage has guides available for most of the tasks.

Digital video transfers were not tested. You should, however, have at least a 2GHz CPU in order to compress the video in real time.

The software includes a built in DVD burner, so you can burn your creations straight away. It is also capable of burning other, pre-authored VIDEO_TS folders and ISO images.

dvdSanta now also includes a preview feature and support for multiple languages.

This demo version will never expire and it includes all the features of the full version, but it will write a watermark on all encoded video.

dvdSanta v4.50

I've used this software for close on a year now, not every day but just when I need it. This has mainly been converting .avi to DVD and, so far, touch wood I've never had any trouble with it.

I had been using the XP 32-bit OS but now have moved to a new machine with the 64-bit XP OS which is significantly faster in its completion times.

I have not yet used all its functions.

dvdSanta v4.00

Intro:

DVDsanta would crash as soon as I tried to convert a avi into a dvd. (The avi in question was a XVID with AC3 audio). Within the first few seconds after I selected create dvd the program would crash.

Event Viewer told me the faulting module was xvid.ax. After searching the net and various forums, I figured out a solution that nobody else tried. Everybody would suggest its a codec issue and would tell you to reinstall dvdSanta or some other far off solution.

I reinstalled the XVID codec from www.xvid.org (freeware) after I installed dvdSanta. Ever Since dvdSanta works like a charm.

Installed RELATED Apps on my PC (without any driver conflicts)

1)Nero Ultimate Edition (Enhanced)
2)DVDsanta 4.0
3)AnyDVD
4)DVDdecryptor (I never use it)
5)Windows Media Player
6)DivxPlayer (complete bundle)
7)AC3Filter
8)XVID (reinstalled after I installed dvdSanta)

absolutely pathetic software.not even worth one star.

DVD Santa is a very good program for burning DVDs, However, if you do have a problem, you are on your own. The only link that works is the one to buy the program. None of the other links will get you through to the company. I would not reccommend that you buy the update package either, as their isn't any, and I doubt if you will be told if there was. I did think that the company had gone out of business, but they are still selling the program. I canot reccommend this program.
