This MD5 Pack contains two utilities from stols.com that are used to create MD5 signatures, and verify them.
MD5Make is a utility you can use to create an MD5 signature for files. This MD5 signature is generated using an algorithm that ensures even the slightest of changes to the binary files will generate a different signature.
MD5Verify is a utility you can use to check and see if a file and an MD5 signature match. If they do not, then the file might have not copied correctly, or was corrupted in transmission, or could be a completely different (possibly malicious file.)
You can generate and test MD5 signatures against single files, or whole directories of files. MD5 signatures (and similar file integrity checks) are a major part of computer security, helping to detect when files may have been tampered with, or might be corrupt.
